In our 21st century world we are inundated with toxins. They are in the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink. Toxins come from the buildings we live and work in, the cars we drive, and even the products we use to clean our homes and bodies. Toxins can result from improper digestion and food intolerances. They can be created by intestinal pathogens, such as yeasts or parasites.
Toxins are everywhere — creating harm and disease in the body. The older you are, the longer your body has been absorbing toxins, which have widespread effects on the body. They can inhibit the immune system, create inflammation, and even affect sleep and hormonal balance.
If you suffer from chronic aches and pains, hormonal imbalances, seasonal allergies, insomnia, anxiety or depression, you may be experiencing the effects of toxin accumulation. It is estimated that 95 percent of all illness is due to toxin accumulation.
The good news is that there is something you can do about this! Monday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m., A Healing Space is offering a class on cleansing. Adam Drapkin, D.C. and Rachel Gross, N.D. will discuss the importance of cleansing, give specific instructions for both beginning and advanced cleansers, and supply students with recipes and materials that will allow everyone taking the class to begin the program immediately. The cost is $40 and includes the supplies needed and a coupon worth $25 to apply toward massage or microcurrent. Both therapies support the cleanse. To register, call the office at 541-343-1887.
Toxin exposure is a given in this day and age. Some exposure we can control, such as the food we eat or the cleaning products we buy. Others we have less control over, but that does not mean we don’t have a choice. We can choose to decrease our exposure, cleanse on a regular basis, and protect ourselves with a healthy diet and lifestyle. Let’s choose health!
