Are you curious about the Pranic Healing classes we’re offering Saturday, July 18th? If you’ve been considering possibly attending a class, but still have more questions, this article is for you. I had the opportunity to spend some time with Liza Burney, owner of Heart-to-Heart Healing, who will be teaching both classes. Not only was it a very interesting interview, but we covered a lot of questions that you might have. From understanding her background to knowing more about the classes, these are the questions covered in the interview:
· What made you decide to make the move from practicing law to practicing energy work?
· What is Pranic Healing?
· How do you assess the energy system and heal something you can’t see?
· Do I need any sort of experience to take the class(es)?
· Who are these tools for?
· How much time will I need?
· What can Pranic Healing help with?
· If I’m under the care of another doctor(s), will this interfere?
· Can Pranic Healing help with the conditions/issues I’m working with?
· Who will benefit the most from each of the two classes offered?
· I’m not a practitioner, can I still attend the energy hygiene class?
· Could I attend both classes? Or is it recommended to choose one or the other?

It was quite an interesting journey! When I was working as a litigation attorney, I started to experience the perfect storm of stress – my job was stressful, I had teenagers which made my home life stressful, and I lacked skills on how to healthfully deal with stress. Adding to it all, I was diagnosed with a physical condition that I needed to address. My traditional, western medicine doctor was kind and helpful but wasn’t able to offer a lot for my specific condition, so I started seeking new alternative options including: chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, and a variety of self-care options. I started taking classes in energy healing and had a session with a Pranic Healer, and that’s when things really changed. Until that point, nothing had truly resolved my condition; but after I saw the Pranic Healer, the physical symptoms I would just have to live with, according to western medicine, actually started to go away. I’m sure the alternative care helped pave the way, but the pranic healing was a big step and inspired me to delve deeper. I took some workshops to learn more, and it eventually led me to where I am now.
It sounds like discovering this tool was very helpful to your journey. Could you tell me more about what Pranic Healing is?
To understand Pranic Healing, we will start with understanding “prana.” Prana is a word for energy, also known as qi/chi in Reiki and Chinese Medicine. It is our life force and vitality – it’s the energy that animates us and the essence of our personal being. Everyone has prana and it surrounds us everywhere – even plants and animals have prana.
Pranic Healing is a 3-step process that begins with identifying the imbalances in our energetic anatomy. Once identified, energy that is stuck, low vibration, or out of balance is released. It is then replaced with fresh, healthy, high vibration energy. Releasing the old energy and replacing with new energy creates a “rocket fuel” effect for the individual receiving the healing.
A rocket fuel energy that is customized to me? That sounds amazing! So how do you assess the energy system and heal something you can’t see?
We are able to assess the energy system using an understanding of the different chakras. First you’ll learn how to activate the palm chakras, which allows you to energetically feel and scan the energy of the person receiving the healing (whether that’s yourself or others). Then we use a technique to assess the imbalanced energy; if it is congested there’s too much energy, or if it’s depleted, there’s not enough energy. Once we have assessed the energy system and the imbalances, we’re able to release and restore it. You may not be able to “see” the energy, but using the palm chakras allows us to feel it.
That sounds interesting. Is any experience needed to take one of your classes? What if someone has no experience with energetic arts or healing practices?
This is a really common question – often people are concerned that they need special skills or abilities, but with some simple training, anyone can do this work. Whether you have experience in healing modalities, feel you are an intuitive person, or not, it is accessible to everyone. Everything you need to know is presented in the class, and after just two hours, you’ll be able to start using this technique on yourself and others.
Really? I thought of this as a self-care tool, but we’ll be able to use these tools with other people as well?
Yes. In the class, we’ll learn to use the tools by practicing on ourselves and others. You will be learning the technique and be able to use it wherever the need presents itself – for yourself, friends, family, even your pets. Of course, if you’re using the tools on other people, it should be done with their knowledge and consent.
Well that could be very helpful. But my schedule is pretty busy, so I don't have a lot of extra time. How much time will I need to continue practicing?
That’s up to you and what you have going on. In the class I’ll teach a 5 minute daily routine that can be easily added to your schedule. Five minutes a day is a small investment in one’s health and well-being. Practicing regularly will help you feel better, have more energy, and spend less “downtime” with aches/pains/stress/etc. I remember when I first realized that it had been years since I took an over-the-counter pain or cold medicine. It hadn’t occurred to me because I didn’t need them, but when I realized that, I knew I was doing something right.
Wow, that’s incredible. So other than physical well-being, what can Pranic Healing help with? Can it help me with my phobia?
Yes! Pranic healings can help with mental/emotional situations, including fears/phobias, stress, anxiety, depression, limiting beliefs, self-sabotage, and so much more. Our energy impacts our emotional well-being as well as our physical well-being, Pranic Healing can help identify and clear imbalances in our energy system that are physical, mental, and/or emotional.

This is an overall wellness tool. I’m under the care of another doctor(s), will this interfere with what my doctors are doing/prescribing? Or could it possibly help?
Pranic Healing is a safe adjunct to all healing practices, whether it is traditional western medicine or another complimentary practice.
And, yes, it can help. The goals of your practitioners and a pranic healer are the same – your wellness. Medical doctors are usually working on the physical level and Pranic Healing is working on the energetic level. It can be the best of both worlds because of the integrative approach to healing (medical and energetic), so they really complement each other.
I like the holistic approach, it's more effective. With two classes being offered in Eugene, who will benefit most from taking each of the classes?
The Intro class is an all-purpose introduction to accelerating physical healing, which means anybody can benefit from the class. Moms with little kids find it helpful for their kids falls, injuries, and inexplicable pains. People with physical challenges can learn how to do self-care for healing. People with pets can support the health/well-being of their pets. Anyone can benefit in some way.
The Hygiene class is particularly focused on medical practitioners to provide information about the energetic implications of professional care-taking. This class is helpful if you are care-taking for a family member, work in customer service jobs, or have high amounts of contact with people. Also, empathic people - those who are sensitive to energy, feel other people's energy, or feel that they lose their energy to other people. The tools are relevant for a broad audience, but will be presented in the context of practitioners.
Could someone attend both classes? Or do you recommend choosing one or the other?
Both classes work really well together. There’s different information in each class. In the Intro class you’ll learn about physical healing, and the Hygiene class is focused on self-care on energetic level, such as strengthening boundaries and learning how to not absorb energy from toxic or challenging environments/people.
Well this has been very helpful, and a nice preview to the Saturday classes. Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I hope that people will come with an open mind to explore this new paradigm of healing. As with any class, you can take these tools and try them out to see how they fit for you – but I recommend giving them a chance because they can be so significant in supporting a person’s healing and well-being.
Thank you Liza! It was a pleasure chatting with you and we are very excited about hosting your classes here at A Healing Space.
