Megan is originally from Sacramento but also lived several years in Seattle. She felt it was only right to give Oregon a try and is happy to be here!
Megan was drawn to massage therapy after giving a massage to a friend and experiencing, through intuition, how to release tension in the muscle physically and energetically. The friend’s complimentary response led Megan to believe that massage therapy might be a career path to explore.
She graduated from the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, California in February 1993, following a 500-hour massage course. She moved to Eugene in October 2001 and attended the Lane Community College massage therapy program where she completed an additional 120 hours of training. In June 2006 she trained in Craniosacral Therapy.
Her style of massage can be called eclectic. She uses many techniques to achieve the goals of improved mobility, pain relief, detoxification and stress relief. Megan believes the conditions her techniques are most effective on are sciatic pain, lower back and shoulder/neck pain, tension and restrictions, and the breaking up of adhesive scar tissue, which restricts mobility of the muscle. She has also been able to help with Achilles tendon problems, which many runners experience.
Megan volunteers in our community as an equine massage therapist at RideAble, which is an equestrian program for people with special needs in the Eugene/Springfield area.
