Share a little about your personal journey as a healing practitioner. What life experiences have enriched or changed your work? My journey started in 2005 when was involved in a head on collision. I had severe whiplash, and was in a tremendous amount of discomfort and pain. I sought treatment at a Chiropractic clinic and received treatment -- both chiropractic and therapeutic massage -- three times a week for over a year. I shudder to imagine where I would be without the care I received from the massage Therapists and the Chiropractor. It was life changing. I felt in my heart that I needed to become a therapist so that I too could help people heal and feel better in their bodies in a completely organic way.
Tell us about your primary training and any continuing education you have done. I began Massage school at LCC in the fall of 2009 and graduated in 2012. I have taken continuing education in Self-care for Body, Mind and Spirit, Acupressure, Migraine and Headache relief as well as Prenatal and Pregnancy massage. I love learning and I'm always looking for classes that will help me provide more ways to help my clients feel better.
I enjoy helping people improve their health and wellness and love that massage is an organic way to treat a variety of health concerns as well as a wonderful way to relax, renew and reduce stress in the body. My love of essential oils has led me to integrate them into most all of my massages. What unique skills and gifts distinguish you? How would you describe your style? Along with my qualifications as an LMT, I am also registered with the AMTA. Over the last 4.5 years I have worked in chiropractic wellness clinics. I am skilled with various techniques, such as deep tissue, trigger point, sports massage, as well as pre-op and post-op body work, which I incorporate into my massages depending on the need of the client. I am particularly adept at deep tissue and I love giving sports massages, as I have a number of athletes as regular clients.
My work is ever evolving and I'm very excited to grow my practice as well as add different modalities to my massages. I have found my forever home at The Healing Space and I'm honored to work with such an outstanding group of experienced and heartfelt healers. I am truly blessed. I look forward to growing and helping more people live better lives.
